Akron Children’s Case Study: Sustaining Infor Lawson Through the Workday Transition

The short answer: Akron Children’s engaged InterScripts in November 2025 for two connected needs. InterScripts runs day-to-day Infor Lawson operations while the internal ERP team delivers Workday, and BytePad is ingesting more than 13 years of Infor CloudSuite, Lawson, and UKG Kronos data so the legacy systems can be retired after go-live.

The challenge

Akron Children’s internal ERP team is focused on the significant effort of implementing Workday. The Infor environment remains a critical operational system while Workday is being designed, configured, tested, and deployed, so it has to stay stable and supported throughout the transformation.

After Workday goes live, HR, finance, supply chain, and audit teams still need access to historical information held in Infor CloudSuite, Lawson, and UKG Kronos, and staff need to answer audit requests and payroll inquiries without relying on a read-only Lawson environment.

The approach

  • InterScripts manages day-to-day Infor operations, including incident resolution, support tickets, system troubleshooting, application maintenance, upgrades, and patches. This lets Akron Children’s focus on the Workday conversion without compromising the day-to-day performance of the current Infor environment.
  • The model provides depth of experience without requiring Akron Children’s to add permanent staff, and adds a layer of continuity and risk management during the transition period.
  • In parallel, InterScripts is archiving legacy Infor CloudSuite and Kronos data in BytePad while sustaining legacy applications through cutover and providing data conversion, integration, and testing support within the Workday program.
  • Both initiatives are managed as one coordinated program covering implementation support and legacy retirement together.

Results as published

  • More than 13 years of legacy ERP and workforce data from three source systems (Infor CloudSuite, Lawson, and UKG Kronos) is being archived in BytePad.
  • Archiving this history is intended to enable retirement of the source systems after Workday goes live while preserving access to information needed by HR, finance, supply chain, and audit teams.
  • BytePad AI Global Search allows staff to address audit requests and payroll inquiries without relying on a read-only Lawson environment.
